【摘要】:ThispartofBS5516givesrecommendationsfordesign,propertiesandmaintenanceofslopingglassandplasticsglazingsheetmaterialsinoverheadsituationsintheenvelopeandinteriorsofbuildings.Itincludesthosesituationswheretheslopingglazingextendsdowntofloorlevel.Theserecommendationsapplyonlywhentheglassisinstalledinanappropriateglazingsystem.Theserecommendationsdonotapplyto:a)verticalglazing(seeBS6262);b)glazingforcommercialgreenhouses(seeBS5502-21);c)glazingfordomesticgreenhouses;d)slopingglazingwhichistobeusedasawalkingsurface(seeBS5516-3);e)profiledplasticssheets.NOTEThereareoccasions,aswithsomecurvedglazing,wherepartsofapanemightbevertical,whileotherpartsmightbesloping.Inthiscase,attentionisdrawntobothBS6262andBS5516.RequirementsforstandardsofworkmanshipforglazinghavebeenpublishedseparatelyasBS8000-7and,therefore,thissubjectisnotwithinthescopeofthisstandard.Sincethecorrectselectionofmaterialstobeusedinglazingforbuildingsdependsonmanyfactors,attentionisdrawntotherecommendationsintheotherpartsofthisstandard.
